The Scientist conducts a survey of its readers about the best places for life scientists to work in industry. The 2006, 2007 and 2008 survey found that Exelixis ranked
among the TOP 10.

In September 2005, Exelixis was ranked by the Employers of Excellence as the #1 Mid-Size Company to work for in the Bay Area. The Employers of Excellence program was introduced by SF Chronicle Jobs and HR.com to help local residents identify top Bay Area workplaces. Organizations are ranked by using assessments created by industry and academic professionals based on excellence in diversity, work culture, HR delivery, leadership, workforce performance and business performance.
