Community Involvement
Our long-term mission is to develop novel therapies
that make a meaningful difference in the lives of patients
with cancer and other serious diseases. We recognize
that the caring and compassion of each member of the
Exelixis
team also can make a difference today in our community
and in the community of individuals living with serious
medical or financial challenges. Exelixis is proud
to support organizations within our communities that
work towards
improving the quality of life for those in need that
live in the Bay Area. Through Exelixis’ charitable
contributions program and the efforts of the charitable
contribution committee, we work together to strengthen
our role as a good corporate citizen and to support
non-profit organizations for which our financial contributions
can truly make a difference.
As a company, we support
several local and national not-for-profit groups
that are resources for information on health, science
and patient support, including The Wellness Community
and the Hunter’s
Point Science Education Program. We also support
Delancey Street Foundation, Habitat for Humanity and
Second Harvest Food Bank. Exelixis is a routine host
of onsite blood drives sponsored by the Stanford Medical
Blood Center, at which our employees donate blood to
support patients in our local hospitals. Our employees
also actively participate in fundraisers such as the
American Cancer Society’s Daffodil Days, the
Arthritis Foundation Walk, Family Giving Tree Gift
Drive and the Breast Cancer Walk.
