XL518

XL518 is a selective inhibitor of MEK, a key component of the MAP kinase pathway which is frequently activated in human tumors. Activation of the pathway is required for transmission of growth-promoting signals from numerous receptor tyrosine kinases. XL518 reached its maximum tolerated dose in an ongoing Phase 1 trial, and has been transferred to our partner Genentech for further clinical development.
