Position Description:

Perform all tasks and duties associated with materials management operations including receipt, storage, and distribution of materials, samples, products, and supplies by performing the following duties in accordance with state and federal codes, company policies and procedures, and safety codes. Ensures materials are accurately received, logged, and tracked from vendors, collaborators, and clinical study partners; materials are delivered to inventory, labs, or end users.  Manage the outbound shipping process to ensure correct packaging, documentation, and shipped in a timely manner. Responsible for internal and external delivery processes of mail and/or packages between sites.

Position Requirements:

•    Operates lift trucks or hand trucks to convey, move or hoist materials. 
•    Records all inbound and outbound shipments.
•    Unpacks, examine and routes incoming shipments, rejects damaged items, records shortages, and corresponds with shipper to rectify damages and shortages. 
•    Coordinates returns with Purchasing and Accounts Payable for credit.
•    Performs all computer functions necessary to track various aspects of goods.
•    Verifies and keeps records of incoming and outgoing shipments and prepares items for shipment per IATA and 49 CFR guidelines.
•    Responsible to make arrangement for pick up by the carrier via the shipping instructions.
•    Reports defective materials or questionable conditions to the department supervisor/purchasing.
•    Responsible for always keeping an adequate supply of shipping materials on hand.
•    Maintains the work area and equipment in a clean and orderly condition and follows prescribed safety regulations.
•    Prepare and sort mail.
•    Distribute mail and packages between buildings and floors.
•    Inventory and reorder breakroom and office supplies.
•    Other duties and/or responsibilities, as needed. 

•    No supervisory responsibilities

•    High school diploma or General education degree (GED) and two years of related experience; or
•    Associate’s degree in related discipline; or
•    Equivalent combination of education and experience.
•    A valid driver’s license and a good driving record

•    Shipping and receiving experience

•    Microsoft Office Suite and SAP user knowledge
•    Ability to provide clear written and verbal communication in English
